EMMY PROGRAM

Empowering and Mentoring Minority Youth

 

The Empowering and Mentoring Minority Youth (EMMY) Program is designed to provide activities and experiences for middle school minority youth to boost their self-confidence, leadership capacity and school achievement in math and science.

 

 

    PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY

·         Minority Youth attending school in Salem County

·         Having completed grade 6 by June 2007  with a C average or better

·         Entering grade 7 in September, 2007

        Having 95 % attendance in school during 2006-2007
 

PROGRAM ACHIEVEMENTS

·         Maintained 100 % Attendance During Summer Pilot

·         67 Percent of the original group participated in the first and second semester reunions during the first year

·         83 Percent of the group returned for the year two summer session

·         All students have maintained consistent grades (A's & B's) and over 95 percent daily attendance
